LuMing Mao 

New Department Chair on July 1st, 2018

It is a real pleasure to announce officially that Professor LuMing Mao will join the Department as Chair effective July 1. Professor Mao is an internationally recognized scholar of comparative, Chinese, and Chinese-American rhetorics, having authored and edited extensively cited works including Reading Chinese Fortune Cookie: The Making of Chinese American Rhetoric and Comparative Rhetoric: The Art of Traversing Rhetorical Times, Places, and Spaces. He is currently co-editing The Norton Anthology of Rhetoric and Writing. He has presented and served as a guest lecturer and/or visiting faculty member in several international contexts--especially the People's Republic of China.

It is an exciting time to be in WRS. LuMing brings his energetic scholarship, renowned teaching, and administrative experience to us in ways that will continue to help us grow as an outstanding department in our field.
