2020 Online Excellence Award Winner Natalie Stillman-Webb

Congratulations Natalie!

Natalie Sillman-Webb Receives 2020 Online Excellence Award

Dear Natalie,

The COVID-19 pandemic forced all of us at the University of Utah to shift in one week—quite literally over spring break —from traditional in-person lectures and student outreach to Zoom calls and online testing modules. However, your efforts to maintain educational integrity while redesigning your courses and student orientation sessions and, at the same time, providing support for your colleagues and other teachers in our community, went further. Your peers and academic leaders saw the work you were doing and recognized it for what it was: exceptional.

The creativity and innovation your work demonstrates will help form a foundation for the future of higher education here at the U, both in terms of course design, and in the educational outreach and support we provide to the community around us. The university will be able to better prepare our students for a global, and increasingly digital economy, thanks to your efforts.

You will be recognized at the University’s 2021 Commencement next May, but because the circumstances surrounding the pandemic continue to evolve, our plans for how to honor you in person are still being finalized.

Again, thank you for all you do to make the University of Utah such an incredible place for our students to learn!

Sincerely,

Daniel Reed

Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
