2020 Awards & Nominations
Congratulations to the recipiants of these recognitions recieved in 2020!
Dr. Charissa Che, our former graduate student and currently Assistant Professor of English at Queensborough Community College, CUNY, is the recipient of the 2020 TETYC (Teaching English at the Two-Year College) editorial fellowship! In this role, she will assist current editor Holly Hassel and incoming editor Darin Jensen in proposal/manuscript development, working with authors, building editorial boards, and implementing a strategic vision plan at the journal. Charissa also recently presented as part of a national TYCA webinar.
Romeo Garcia has been selected to receive the 2020 Rising Star in the Humanities Award: There were many worthy submissions for consideration for these two awards this year.
I might add that Romeo is the third member in the department who has been given the honor of receiving the Rising Star in the Humanities Award. Our two previous honorees are Jon Stone (2019) and Christie Toth (2018). It has become an annual occurrence or autumnal tradition for us!
Maureen Mathison has been selected to receive the 2020 Distinguished Service in the Humanities Award.
Natalie Stillman-Webb has recently been nominated for the University Distinguished Teaching Award. Congratulations to Natalie for this nomination, and we are anxious to hear the still better news in weeks ahead.
